Dear Colleagues,

Our conversations with many of you have been instrumental in understanding the current needs in the WASH and Health sector and how our services can provide a solution to those needs.  We thank you for participating in these conversations by providing your expertise and feedback.  On behalf of the SaniPath International team, we are excited to share some recent highlights!

SaniPath Tool to be adapted for humanitarian contexts with IHE Delft

SaniPath International and TREND Group will advise IHE Delft on adapting the SaniPath Tool to humanitarian contexts in Uganda and Bangladesh and support capacity building for its application.

Introducing Wastewater Based Epidemiology (WBE) for SARS-CoV-2 in Metro Manila with Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the SaniPath team will advise the Manila Water Company on best practices and methods for implementing wastewater surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 in Metro Manila, Philippines.      

Introducing Wastewater-Based Epidemiology (WBE) for SARS-CoV-2 in Kathmandu with Asian Development Bank 

Funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the SaniPath team will advise Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Management Board (KVWSMB) and Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL)  on best practices and methods for implementing wastewater surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 in Kathmandu, Nepal.  This contract included a successful visit by delegates from the Ministry of Water Supply, Nepal to Atlanta in mid-August 2022. The purpose of this visit was to share international best practices, protocols, trends, and initiatives on wastewater-based epidemiology surveillance for SARS-CoV-2.  The Delegation met with various stakeholders in Atlanta including Emory University, the City of Atlanta, Georgia Department of Public Health, The Carter Center, CARE International, the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and others.  

 

We will continue to share updates with our networks and hope to find ways to collaborate with many of you in the future.  As always, we welcome additional feedback and ideas.
