Happy New Year from SaniPath International!

Dear Colleague,,

Happy New Year! As we reflect upon an eventful and productive 2023, we are excited to share some of the remarkable strides we've made at SaniPath International. From advancing key partnerships to expanding our project portfolio, here are the highlights:

New Projects

This year we have been fortunate to work on a number of new contracts with partners, including:

  • Asian Development Bank in Mongolia: With funding from the Asian Development Bank and in collaboration with World Vision Mongolia and Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, we have kicked off a project to adapt the SaniPath Tool for implementation in soum centers in Mongolia and in developing a behavior change communication strategy.

  • African TA Hub: In collaboration with Athena Infonomics and TREND, we are working to help integrate Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) into planning efforts in Ghana for the African Technical Assistance Hub and the African Development Bank.

  • Emory University Fundamentals in WASH in Healthcare Facilities Course: We are supporting the Center for Global Safe WASH in development of a short course of WASH in Healthcare Facilities. The course will be launching January 15th and those interested can register here.

  • We have applied for and are in conversations about a number of new opportunities, so we hope that we will be able to share some exciting new projects with you soon!

Notable Engagements and Travel

  • This year, our team attended the FSM7 conference in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire; the IWA non-sewered sanitation conference in Johannesburg, South Africa; and the Water and Health Conference, held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where we were able to present our work and meet with many of you!

  • We held several webinars and seminars this year, including those with the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and The FSM Alliance.

  • Our team traveled to conduct environmental and wastewater surveillance trainings in the Philippines and Nepal and kicked off our new project on environmental exposure assessments in Mongolia!

Looking Forward

In 2024, we will continue our mission of supporting data-driven solutions to improve public health and WASH. In particular, given the global climate crises, we look forward to increasingly using our expertise to develop climate-resilient programs and policies. If you are working on climate change and want to discuss possible collaborations, please feel free to reach out!

As we stride into 2024, these achievements and ongoing efforts lay the groundwork for impactful collaborations and meaningful advancements in our sector.

Thank you for your support and partnership throughout 2023. Here's to an even more productive and fulfilling year ahead!

Sincerely,

The SaniPath Team
